- Assist with setup, teardown, and basic configuration of test equipment, fixtures, tooling, instrumentation, and test assemblies.
- Move, position, measure, and secure tools, parts, pipe, and test assemblies using hand tools, measuring tools, and material-handling equipment.
- Maintain work areas, test bays, tools, and storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition, including basic equipment inspections and preventive care.
- Perform assembly and disassembly of tools and components using drawings, work instructions, bills of material, and direction from technicians or engineers.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, grinders, saws, and other shop equipment as trained and authorized.
- Support technicians and engineers during testing operations, including staging equipment, connecting basic instrumentation, recording test information, and monitoring equipment as directed.
- Perform basic MIG and/or TIG welding and light fabrication tasks as needed. Formal welding certification or trade-school training is not required, but prior hands-on experience with welding equipment and basic welding processes is preferred.
- Use basic measuring and inspection tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, or similar equipment to verify dimensions and assist with inspection activities.
- Enter or update basic shop, inventory, inspection, or test information using Microsoft Office and company computer systems; organize electronic records, photos, and test data as directed.
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, work instructions, and job safety analyses (JSAs); identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, and abnormal test conditions.
- Commitment to working safely in an industrial, fabrication, and test environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a shop, manufacturing, fabrication, oilfield, mechanical, or industrial environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment.
- Basic hands-on welding experience using MIG and/or TIG equipment preferred. Formal welding training or certification is not required.
- Comfortable using a computer for routine work, including Microsoft Office, email, data entry, electronic forms, and basic file management. Ability to learn company software and test/data-acquisition interfaces.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures, basic technical drawings, work instructions, and verbal direction; ability to accurately record measurements and test information.
- Experience with forklifts, overhead cranes, pressure-testing equipment, instrumentation, or data-acquisition systems is a plus (or willingness to be trained).
- Physically demanding position requiring standing, walking, climbing, and lifting (up to 80 lbs occasionally).
- Exposure to shop and test environments including noise, equipment, chemicals, and outdoor conditions.
- May require extended hours, overtime, or schedule flexibility based on workload.
