Design Engineer III
Works in a manner consistent with company values while creating and maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive work environment. Independently applies basic and advanced engineering principles to solve engineering problems and drive design improvements for existing products as well as new product research and development. Demonstrates foresight and mature application of engineering knowledge to resolve complex design challenges, performing appropriate engineering analysis and testing throughout the design and development process. Possesses experience in design for manufacturability, translating engineering concepts into production‑ready parts and assemblies, with working knowledge of relevant industry standards such as API, ISO, and ASME. Maintains a strong understanding of strength of materials and steel metallurgy, contributes to product design reviews and brainstorming sessions, participates in intellectual property development including patents, and conducts lab and field testing involving high mechanical loads, pressures, temperatures, and hazardous fluids. Proficient in performing linear and non‑linear Finite Element Analysis (ABAQUS preferred).
Prepares technical and test reports summarizing results and recommendations to improve product quality and is capable of creating and presenting technical information to both internal and external customers. Provides technical support across departments while effectively managing multiple projects, schedules, and budgets. Contributes to project planning, project management efforts, and the company’s technology portfolio and strategy, while mentoring and collaborating closely with engineers, designers, technicians, and other personnel. Job tasks, when correctly performed, indirectly impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations, with consequences of error being measurable and confined. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
